“To detain the participants of the Social Forum is mere provocation”, Pamfilova
Ella Pamfilova, the chairman of the Civil Society Institutions and Human Rights Council under the President of RF, said that The Council is going to bring the materials on the arresting of the alter-globalists to the Office of Public Prosecutor. The alter-globalists were going to St. Petersburg to attend the Social Forum meeting. “I see it more than just non-professionalism of the particular lawmen, it is a conscious provocation aimed to undermine the reputation of Russia”, Pamfilova said. According to Pamfilova, the militiamen who detained the alter-globalist “push the youth away from the lawful course”.
Earlier this Saturday, the member Russian Communistic Party Fraction in State Duma, Oleg Smolin, stated in his speech that the Law Machinery is carrying out the operation against Social Forum which takes place in St. Petersburg. According to the depute, this operation is called “Barrier”. Smolin said that he has the facts proving that the participants are taken off the trains so that they would not get to the Forum. He added that such facts are available in Omsk, Nahodka, Novosibirsk, Izhevsk, Tomsk, Barnaul.
