Democratization processes gaining momentum at G8 - Putin
ST PETERSBURG, July 17 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday the processes of democratization and greater transparency are gaining momentum within the framework of the G8 summit.
“This is proved by fruitful participation of Brazilian, Indian, Chinese, Mexican and South African presidents, international organizations, including the CIS and the African Union, in the work on the sidelines of the summit,” he told a news conference summing up the summit’ s results.
“We discussed all the issues on the agenda taking into account recommendations submitted by delegates of other two important forums that Moscow hosted in early July – the World Summit of Religious Leaders and the international forum of non-governmental organizations Civil G8-2006,” Putin said.
