The First Russian Forum for Inclusive Education was held in Moscow Region
The integrative education experts from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Orenburg, Ivanovo, St Petersburg, Tomsk, Arkhangelsk and Komi Republic participated the Forum for integrative educations in the educational center Golitsino near Moscow. The Forum was organized by the Charity Foundation “Humanitarian Programs Support” together with the European Union and British Home Farm Trust.
The Forum was conducted within the framework of the program “The strategy of inclusive education support” aimed at the assistance to invalids social adaptation and helping them to enter schools of general education.
Many of the institutions participated in the Forum deal mostly with the integration of the “special children” aged of 10 years and more to their equals milieu.
At the same time many participants admitted that there are many problems engendered by the society incomprehension of special children’ integration and the lack of will to adopt them to their milieu.
From another hand we witness today the increasing number of successful examples of implementing models of integrative education.
The Forum participants prepared a letter for Duma within the program “The discrimination of invalids in education sphere: ways of overcoming”. In this letter the Forum participants expressed their deep concern about the problem and proposed a number of initiatives aimed at general schools assistance for integrative education development, strengthening legal base for inclusive education, psychological assistance to children0invalids and their family members, necessary for the realization of their constitutional rights, particularly, the right for education.
