On 25-26 April, within the framework of Germany’s chairmanship of the G8, an International Conference Non-Governmental Organisation “CIVIL G8 DIALOGUE” was held in Bonn. The event was held by the Forum of Germany Non-Governmental Organisations in the sphere of the environment and development, in conjunction with the Government of Germany.

With the support of the Civil Society Institutions and Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation, a group of representatives of Russian Non-Governmental Organisations and business associations working in the sphere of the climate, ecology, development, etc. participated in the conference.

Ella Pamfilova, co-ordinator of the National working group of the “Civil G8 – 2006” project, have a report at one of the plenary sessions of the conference (25 April), and also took part in a meeting of NGO representatives with G8 country sherpas (26 April). Speaking on 26 April, Ella Pamfilova thanked the partners from Germany for their efforts in developing interaction between the international NGO community with the G8, which was actively promoted by Russian NGOs in 2006, and stressed the importance of maintaining continuity in implementing the process in the future.

General material was distributed at the conference – Monitoring of NGOs “Results of the activities of the Civil G8 2006” and the impact of NGOs on of the official G8, prepared under the leadership of V.Panova, member of the National working group.
